Pleasant staff, excellent location bedroom good value for money with excellent bathroom.Good English breakfast.

Be aware pub customers sitting outside under bedrooms late in hot weather, with lots of noise.

  • Older travelers

Nice to be able to say good things about this hotel .It was better than described in the hotel leaflet .Will definately vist again

  • Older travelers

The very friendly and welcoming approach from Daisy on our arrival.

Not a complaint, but when I read the details on-line I thought we would have a bath. On discussing it when we left it turned out that we had the only room without a bath! Never mind, I suppose that's the disadvantage of booking on-line.

  • Older travelers

A friendly pub in an ideal location - near the waterfront and town but quiet enough for a good night's sleep. Very comfy room, great breakfast, and with a snug little bar for a last drink or two before bed. We love Dartmouth and have a weekend there most years and always stay somewhere different but may well return here as it gave us everything we needed. No hassle or fuss, just good relaxation time.

  • Group of friends

Convenient location and the provision of a parking permit for the town car park. Views from the bedroom window were great.Friendly staff

I was a little concerned about fire precations as it appeared that the only method of escape would be down the small main staircase. There were no fire precaution notices in the room.

  • Older travelers

It was exactly as advertised, with the bonus of all the staff being pleasant and efficient.

  • Older travelers

It had a certain charm once you got used to it. I think the literature about it did oversell it's quality, the rooms were nice but not what I call luxurious but certainly comfortable and tasteful. Not as spacious as portrayed on the photo, but after 3 days I did feel a sense of friendliness and certainly the pub was popular (if not small), food good, and atmosphere when busy was good. Run by a nice couple and their daughter, with a sense of pride in their business, however we didn't see them until day 3 and weren't aware of who they were until then, which was a shame because they brought a vibrancy to the business that wasn't seen until I met them in the bar one evening. A little quiet in the breakfast area, no obvious people about until they popped in from next door, and no background radio or anything to take away from the feeling of being there on your own. Breakfast very good, bathrooms spacious and of a high standard, and location good to walk into town. Best to use park and ride as parking is nigh on impossible. £5 per day will give you a 24hour cover and the system works well to pop up and put a ticket on each day so don't stress on it. Car was safe! No seating in the rooms to relax in, have to sit on the bed, and no sign of the promised dvd player. Fairly quiet considering it a pub, especially on top floor. Views lovely from room, shame about lack of seating. Would stay again but wouldn't compare to top hotel. Amenities in room basic but adequate, but made up for by quirkiness of the whole set up. Dartmouth well worth the visit, will come back.

My main dislike is the lack of seating other than the bed. Could be sorted by putting chair in window instead of the little shelving unit that is there. Not that spacious but then again most of the buildings in Dartmouth of small quirky shape so in hindsight should have expected that. Still feel the literature oversells it somewhat and misleads you on the ability to park. Room could do with some individual touches such as pictures on walls, and the odd extra touches.

The excelent friendly staff, all of the facilitys, access, and food

  • Older travelers

Very friendly and helpful, excellent service and great breakfasts

  • Single

The Ship in Dock Inn was located near the waterside, with a grand view of the estuary from the room. Car parking was easy and it was a short walk to the town centre and sea front. It was a smaller establishment than expected, which created a cosy atmosphere. In contrast, the bedroom was lovely, clean and spacious. Good brekky!

    Having to leave

  • Older travelers

Great views from the room - looking down the river. Good location close to town. Nice bathroom and large bed as advertised. Friendly staff. Free parking tickets for the car park 100m away.

  • Older travelers

Clean, comfortable and with friendly staff.

The dining room was a little draughty on a wild and windy night.

  • Older travelers

Very friendly. Very good food. Very clean, both room and bathroom. Lovely views.

Wish there had been a chair in the bedroom to sit on.

  • Group of friends

Friendly atmosphere, all the staff were cheerful and always ready to help. Excellent views from bedrooms, and convenient for the town and quay side of Dartmouth. The breakfast was good with plenty of options. Very convenient if attending any functions at BRNC.

  • Couple

Rooms recently refurbished to a good standard, clean & comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Hotel small but friendly.
